JESUS IN THE BOOK OF JOB – OUR SUFFERING SERVANT ✝️
Considered the most ancient of all Biblical texts, the book of Job is a poetic masterpiece that tells the story of a suffering servant, forsaken by both God and man. But is Job only primeval poetry? Could this most ancient of tales also contain a hidden treasure of prophecy? Could Job be a type of Christ?
As I began to dig deeper into this text, its cracked layers of plaster fell away to reveal a beautiful mosaic of Yeshua Jesus, the Suffering Servant. Explore the following verses with me:
“They gape at me with their mouth, they strike me reproachfully on the cheek, they gather together against me (Job 16:10, about 4000 years before Christ).
“They gape at Me with their mouths, like a raging and roaring lion” (Ps 22:13, 1000 years before Christ).
My friend, as you close your eyes and meditate on these verses, you will see our Savior Yeshua Jesus, the Messiah, as He stood trial. He is before the Sanhedrin. You see them, mouths agape as He declares Himself God. The temple Guard slaps Him…
But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, “I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!” Jesus said to him, “IT IS AS YOU SAID”. – Matthew 26:63-64
And when He had said these things, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, “Do You answer the high priest like that?” – John 18:22
Friend, that very night Yeshua Jesus stood trial in your place and was sentenced to torture and death, forsaken by both God and man. Jesus is the true Suffering Servant, a King who died for His people, a Creator who gave his life for His creation as it cursed Him.
There is no other story like it. My friend, make Jesus YOUR story. He loves you more than you can imagine.❤️
