Christ be Magnified – Arranged by Don Ives and written by Cody Carnes

https://discoverhistoricjesus.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Magnify.mp3

Oh, MAGNIFY the Lord with me – Psalm 34-3

Were creation suddenly articulate

With a thousand tongues to lift one cry

Then from North to South and East to West

We’d hear Christ be magnified

Were the whole Earth echoing His eminence

His name would burst from sea and sky

From rivers to the mountain tops

We’d hear Christ be magnified

Oh! Christ be magnified

Let His praise arise

Christ be magnified in me

Oh! Christ be magnified

From the altar of my life

Christ be magnified in me

When every creature finds its inmost melody

And every human heart its native cry

Oh then in one enraptured hymn of praise

We’ll sing Christ be magnified

Oh! Christ be magnified

Let His praise arise

Christ be magnified in me

Oh! Christ be magnified

From the altar of my life

Christ be magnified in me

I won’t bow to idols, I’ll stand strong and worship You

And if it puts me in the fire, I’ll rejoice ’cause You’re there too

I won’t be formed by feelings, I hold fast to what is true

If the cross brings transformation then I’ll be crucified with You

‘Cause death is just the doorway into resurrection life

And if I join You in Your suffering, then I’ll join You when You rise

And when You return in glory with all the angels and the saints

My heart will still be singing, my song will be the same

Oh! Christ be magnified

Let His praise arise

Christ be magnified in me

Oh! Christ be magnified

From the altar of my life

Christ be magnified in me

Oh! Christ be magnified

Let His praise arise

Christ be magnified in me

Oh! Christ be magnified

From the altar of my life

Christ be magnified in me

And Mary said, My soul doth MAGNIFY the Lord – Luke 1:46

I tell you that if these keep silent, THE VERY STONES WILL CRY OUT – Luke 19:40

It seems fitting to introduce our AVENT 2021 series on Jesus in the TENAKH – The Hebrew Old Testament – by starting at the VERY BEGINNING. The Apostle John records the earliest record of, not the first human, or ape-man, or animal, or plant, or microbe, or atom… but, indeed, the infinite, absolute, BEGINNING:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. – John 1:1

In fact, in Colossians 1:16 we learn that Jesus was the Creator Himself, and that all Creation, including you and I, were Created for Him…

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. – Colossians 1:16

Therefore, when we read Genesis 1:1, the first words of the first book of the Bible, we clearly see Jesus…

In the beginning God Created the heavens and the earth – Genesis 1:1

Indeed, It is JESUS who holds all things, every proton, neutron and electron on this earth, together…

The Son is the gleaming brightness of God’s glory. He is the exact likeness of God’s being. He uses his powerful word to hold all things together. – Hebrews 1:3

JESUS is our reason for being. He is our beginning and our ending. Our Author and Finisher. We read in the book of Hebrews…

…looking unto Jesus, the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. – Hebrews 12:2

Oh, Christ be magnified! If we remain silent, the very stones will cry out!

Friend, do you know Him who flung the stars into the sky, who poured out the oceans, and whose fingers formed the dry land… Do you know your Author, your Creator, who wants to shape you, and mold you, so that you MAGNIFY His likeness and Glory?

Friend, He is waiting now… for you.
